Resistance Welding of Batteries

The increasing application of mains-independent units with a relatively high power requirement has also increased the production of the appropriate battery packages. Depending on the capacity of the battery packages, the single cells are contacted via cell connectors by means of the so-called gap welding method. Since those connectors are often made of nickel materials it is, in certain circumstances, necessary to take special measures, due to the occurrence of the Peltier effect.

Depending on the application, normally medium-frequency or high-frequency inverters of the SPATZ family are used. In the early stage of machine design and also during future operation, the extensive standard equipment will certainly meet all demands and the in-built measurement inputs for current, voltage, force and displacement signals allow the reliable inline control of the process data.
