Servo-Projection Welding Machine

Their aluminium modular design makes projection welding machines extremely stable and rather free from torsion effects. At the same time, their weight is considerably less than the weight of comparable steel structures.

Depending on the welding task, the machine can be equipped with a driven servo axle and a fixed counter electrode or with two servo drive axles.

Activation is, in all events, made via the ServoSPATZM600LL/M600LW. Combined with the built-in MFDC transformer (standard), welding currents of up to 30 kA are available.

It is, among other things, the projection geometry at the start of weld time which defines the quality in projection welding. If this projection geometry is - through rough approach of the welding electrode - negatively influenced (frequently in pneumatically driven systems), effects on the strength of the welded joint are unavoidable.

The fast speed of motion during component approach and the soft and controlled approach on the components are advantageous. The integrated measurement of electrode penetration provides, more-over, data for part recognition and quality control.

Settable follow-up units in the drive axles allow the optimal adaptation of electrode penetration during the welds and thus to production which is, to the greatest possible extent, free of spattering.

The equipment is, of course, also applicable for standard spot welding.
